Video - Music high-school, Piteå
I took the photo below from the city Hotel in the nearby town Piteå. My wife and I use to stay there when  she practice at the vocal ensemble on the music high-school in Piteå.
The hotel dates from the 19th century, and it has atmosphere. A lot of if actually!
The wooden church on the photo is also more than houndred years old.
The old hotel has become our favourit, not only because of that the Music high-school are paying for most of our visit. -Period!

Hobbit and the death

I tried to get my wife with me  on the film Hobbit.
"But it is just a bunch of people running back and forth, and so there is  forefathers with beards," she said.
I can hardly provide a more accurate review myself, but I like the story, so I have to go alone and share site with hobbits  and elves.
And what is Hobbit about?
" The Death!" said Tolkien, who had seen all his friends killed in WWI's trenches. But, there is a hope beyond this. The story doesn't stop in a trench somewhere.

A Christmas Carol Photo

The old house with it's cafe' in a small antique environment with old lamps makes me think about Charles Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" story. For one, living in northern Scandinavia, snow is compared with the feeling of Christmas.
At the coffee shop we ate saffran spiced Buns; buns with cream.

A black forest tail

           The watchmaker
One day at home I found a fairy tail about a watchmaker and a cuckoo that lived in the Schwarzwald mountains, about 200 years ago. When I read this, i remembered when I woke up at my
mother-in-laws departement outside Riga. When I heard the distant sound of a Cuckoo, I had the feeling that I were in a fairy tail black forest, long time ago. Exactly the story I was reading just now.
         Can't be explained
I don't know how to explain this, but a fairy tail doesn't have to be explained. Or does it?

A fairy tailed story

             As clear as a bell
It was about two O' Clock on the morning, in the beginning of June.
I woke up at my mother-in-law's apartment in a suburb outside latvian capital Riga. Then I heard a sound coming from the forest, as clear as a bell.' It was a a Cuckoo!
I have rarely heard such a clear sound before,  Listening to this wonderful distant sound, I had a feeling of being in the middle of a fairy tal; in a black forest. I had a feeling of being in Schwarzwald, or perhaps I did, cause when we come home, something strange happened.
Next time I will tell you what, so, stay with us (?!)

What religious hatred cause

St. AugustInes was an intelligent analytics in the early christianity, but he and the other "fathers" in the church were spreading hatred against Jews. It opened the gate to Hell.

Yesterday it was a Kippah walking in Malmö in southern Sweden. The Jews in Malmo and all around Sweden protested that they are  being attacked on the street by muslims, "regular" Swedes and right-and-left extremists, that has shopping Jews on the streets, accusing them for killing palestinians.

The presumed KGB officer

Tallinn harbour in the beginning of the 90's. We had just arrived with a ferry from Helsinki. Three men in a
moving bus.
On the other side of us were Estonia soldiers with machine guns, A Russian military Jeep were drowning towards a gate. The driver was signaling, and the gate opened, and the Jeep disappeared behind the gate.
Then, a civil clothed man was yelling at us: "Get out of the car!"
Our driver instantly jumped out of the car with our paper. It was obviously that we were not welcome here. I believe that the yelling man was a KGB officer.
That was the first impression I had of the Baltic countries.

The whole day I have heard that the attack was caused by an anti-Islam movie. Then I read in Washington Post that the attack in Libya was a revenge for the killing of an Al Quida leader. When I heard about the movie, I though that the attack was more looking like Al Quida. And i was right.

                                                            Late  Midnight-
I love to travel by train - except when it´s after midnight and the train, which was expected to arrive 30 minutes after midnight was delayed one hour.
We were at Umea station in northern Sweden, and we took this late train because it would arrive after eleven o´clock in the morning the next day to Stockholm.
When we finally came to Stockholm, the train was almost two hours delayed. A german girl who was onboard the train missed her buss to Hamburg.

We decided to take flight next time, but I have not given up hope of jumping onboard a train again.  And there is hope: the new Bothnia line is to be finish this year, so one can take a high-speed train from Stockholm to Umea in about six hours.
But, after all, we had plenty of time to listen to the birds when we were waiting for the midnight-train in Umea.

Psychotic woodpecker?

Me and my wife were walking in the forest nearby our home. Then we heard a mystical voice.
When we approached the voice, we saw that it was a woodpecker.  It sat on a pole and chopped on a metal lantern. We thought that it was some kind of a psychotic depression - perhaps it had lost it´s partner.
When we investigated this we found out that woodpeckers often chopps at metal in order to attract a partner. It has learnt to use our devices.
