A fairy tailed story

             As clear as a bell
It was about two O' Clock on the morning, in the beginning of June.
I woke up at my mother-in-law's apartment in a suburb outside latvian capital Riga. Then I heard a sound coming from the forest, as clear as a bell.' It was a a Cuckoo!
I have rarely heard such a clear sound before,  Listening to this wonderful distant sound, I had a feeling of being in the middle of a fairy tal; in a black forest. I had a feeling of being in Schwarzwald, or perhaps I did, cause when we come home, something strange happened.
Next time I will tell you what, so, stay with us (?!)

What religious hatred cause

St. AugustInes was an intelligent analytics in the early christianity, but he and the other "fathers" in the church were spreading hatred against Jews. It opened the gate to Hell.

Yesterday it was a Kippah walking in Malmö in southern Sweden. The Jews in Malmo and all around Sweden protested that they are  being attacked on the street by muslims, "regular" Swedes and right-and-left extremists, that has shopping Jews on the streets, accusing them for killing palestinians.

'I have become a question to myself.' St Augustine'

A morning picture

It's a wonderful morning and we are eating breakfasts at our hotel in Piteå. We are glad for every sunny day, cause it has rained a lot the last time.
I took this photo from the hotel restaurant, and it shows the old wooden church near our Hotel.

The presumed KGB officer

Tallinn harbour in the beginning of the 90's. We had just arrived with a ferry from Helsinki. Three men in a
moving bus.
On the other side of us were Estonia soldiers with machine guns, A Russian military Jeep were drowning towards a gate. The driver was signaling, and the gate opened, and the Jeep disappeared behind the gate.
Then, a civil clothed man was yelling at us: "Get out of the car!"
Our driver instantly jumped out of the car with our paper. It was obviously that we were not welcome here. I believe that the yelling man was a KGB officer.
That was the first impression I had of the Baltic countries.

Bridge over troubled water

Today it's a rainy day. Looking at. this photo, taken today, I'm thinking about the song: "bridge over troubled water", mostly written by
Paul Simon, because the water is raising after many days of raining.
Troubled was the water in the Baltic sea when the Estonian ferry Estonia went under. I knew one of those that died that stormy night on the ferry.
Next time I will continue with a new story from the Baltic states.

Death in the cloud story

I remember when I stood on the deck of Estonia, a ferry that later sunk in September 28, 1994. It was about a year before the catastrophy.
Looking at the Estonian capital Tallinn, I saw a filthy yellow cloud hanging over the town. And the cloud was looking like a skull with a bullet hole.
